9 round Swiss tournament
The North Munster League tournament will be for players resident in the North Munster area or playing for North Munster clubs.
Venues: Shannon Rowing Club, Limerick or the Auburn Lodge Hotel, Ennis. League tables will be displayed at both venues
Participants will have to declare a home venue.
Players with the Black pieces will have home advantage.
Players with White will have to play in the preferred home venue of their opponent.
Disputes must be referred to the Controller at the first instance and a players committee will be nominated to hear appeals.
Play will commence soon, preferably first/second week October 2008 with a time span of three(3) weeks between rounds. Participants are requested to play their games in week one(1) of the time slot. There will be a month long Christmas break.
Results to be submitted to the Controller (Gerry Graham) by the end of week two(2).
Next round draw will be posted on this website during week three(3) with play to commence the following week.
Team competition for teams of three (3) players. Average rating of each team must not exceed 1800. Entries must be submitted before commencement of play. There will be a prize and team entry is free.
Rate of play: 105 minutes/player for all moves
Prize fund:
1st prize = €400 plus Perpetual trophy
2nd prize = €250
3rd prize = €150
Grading prizes
1600-1800 = €150
Under 1600 = €150
Team Prize = €300
